This blog is an attempt to translate an Islamic Book of Prayer or Majmu Syarif or Yasin Book - Buku Yasin (Indonesian) into the English language.

This book is by nature of the Sunni Islam (Ahlus-Sunnah wal Jamaat). And it is widely used especially by the traditional Sunni muslims like Nahdlatul Ulama (NU). So, this book reflects the practices of the Sunni faith.

This book's contains range from the Yasin Prayer for the Death to the daily prayers and devotions. This book also contains many Quranic chapters and verses that are to be recited frequently in our daily prayer lives. In short, the nature of this prayer book is Quranic and Hadith-ic.

For the translation, the author of this blog will mainly translates from Indonesian to English with some checks to the original Arabic words as possible. The author of this blog may also consults the dictionaries, concordances, or the Quran Word by Word Translation. For the sake of the beautiful language, the author of this blog will use the Quran translation by Muhammad Picthall. For your preference, the readers may consults the other translations as needed.

It is hoped that this Islamic Book of Prayer may benefit every faithful and everyone that seeks to undedstand Islam (especially Sunni Islam) more and better. It is good if you want to consult to your Sunni clergy about the prayers. In the end, let us sincerely pray to our Lord and God, Allah, that He will guide us in His path unto the day we will be risen again. Aamiin.

For the clarity, the Sunni Islam is the one that claims unbrokened chain from our holy and beloved Prophet Muhammad pbuh. Among the Sunni Islam figures in this era are Habib Umar bin Hafidz of Yaman and Habib Ali Jufri of Yaman. One of the Sunni Islamic organization is Nadlatul Ulama in Indonesia. One of the Sunni Islam School (madrasah) is Dar-al Musthafa in the city of Tarim, Hadhramaut, Yaman.
